We come from Michoacán, shaped by the work of those who grow the agave and
keep the knowledge of mezcal making alive. We honor our
roots while exploring new ways to enjoy mezcal.
We are Mezcal Libre: made to be enjoyed neat, with others, or in a cocktail.
There is no single right way to drink it, as long as we stay true to what matters most: quality, origin,
and the people who make it possible.
Our roots are in Michoacán, among agave fields and the people who keep its mezcal-making tradition alive. From our distillery in Etúcuaro and our agave fields in Ucasiro and Devanador, we share our own expression of Mexican mezcal.
Neat, with food, or in a cocktail. You choose how to enjoy Viviente. What defines us remains in every bottle: quality agave, artisanal craftsmanship, and respect for where we come from.
Every bottle of Viviente begins with carefully selected mature agaves. Across eight stages, time and the knowledge of the people behind our mezcal shape the character of each expression.

The story of Jaime Villa Miranda, a maestro mezcalero from Etúcuaro, is deeply connected to the mezcal-making tradition of his family and community.
His grandfather began making mezcal and took part in the entire process, from growing and caring for the agave to distillation. That knowledge was then passed down to Jaime’s father and his older brother, Juan. Jaime spent years working alongside his brother and went on to dedicate himself to making mezcal.
