Description

A Cupreata with character and balance

Viviente Cupreata is an intense, well-structured expression where minerality meets citrus, herbal, and spiced notes.

Its profile unfolds gradually: it opens fresh and mineral, moves toward cooked agave and a delicate caramelized sweetness, and finishes with warm notes of clove and white pepper.

The result is a complex, balanced Cupreata mezcal, with enough character to be enjoyed neat and the versatility to be explored in many different ways.

Tasting profile

Appearance

Crystal clear, with silver highlights.

Nose

The first impression combines orange peel with a light honeyed touch.

Herbal notes of mint follow, along with a wet-stone minerality and a faint sulfurous hint, accompanied by clove and white pepper.

Palate

An intense, well-structured entry, balancing sweetness, freshness, and minerality.

It opens with mineral notes of fresh copper and moves toward cooked agave, lightly caramelized sugar, and a subtle smokiness.

Orange peel adds freshness, followed by mint, pine needles, clove, and white pepper.

The finish is warm and spiced, with a balanced transition between sweet, mineral, and spiced notes.

What makes Viviente Cupreata different?

Cupreata holds an especially important place in Viviente’s identity.

This agave grows in the Balsas region, between Michoacán and Guerrero. In Michoacán, it can be found in areas such as Etúcuaro, Madero, Indaparapeo, and Tzitzio.

Viviente Cupreata is made in Etúcuaro, Michoacán, connecting this expression directly to the origin of our artisanal mezcal.

It is an expression where the character of Cupreata shines through a citrus, mineral, herbal, and spiced profile.
